This account book contains daily records of carpentry services, hardware sales (paint, nails, tools, lumber, etc.), and general merchandise transacted by Sawyer for the period 1823 to 1831. The accounts from 1838 to 1840 reflect those of a machinist forging steel, making patterns, repairing machinery, and producing hardware (screws, hinges, etc.).
